Hey y’all! Let me introduce you to the incredibly talented artist, Richard Lynch. This guy is no stranger to success, racking up awards left and right. And it’s not just here in the good ol’ US of A, he’s making waves on the international radio charts too! Talk about a global sensation!
Lynch’s name has been plastered across some of the biggest publications out there, like Billboard Magazine, Taste of Country, and The Boot. I mean, this guy is getting the recognition he truly deserves. But it’s not just about the fame, Lynch knows how to bring the heat when it comes to collaborations.
He’s worked with some big names in the industry, folks. We’re talking about the likes of Ronnie McDowell, Leona Williams, and even Grammy award-winning singer Rhonda Vincent. Yeah, he’s rubbing elbows with the best of the best.
Now, let’s talk about his latest hit, “Current Conditions”. This track is going places, my friends. It’s following Lynch’s Top 20 Cashbox single, “Thankful, Grateful and Blessed”. And let me tell ya, that song is a certified feel-good anthem. But we’re not stopping there.
Lynch’s latest album, “Radio Friend”, is causing quite the stir. It’s not just a hit here and there, no sir. This album has scored not one, not two, but THREE international iTunes chart Top 25 hits! I don’t know about y’all, but that’s some serious chart-topping success right there.
Richard was gracious enough to take some time to answer a few questions in this exclusive interview…
Can you tell us about your musical background? How did you get started as a singer-songwriter?
I come from a country music household, where country music was a way of life. My Dad influenced me at a young age and his traditional music inspired me then and now. More now than ever traditional country music is needed, I feel compelled to keep writing the traditional country music I love.
Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they inspired your work?
My Dad, Woody Lynch and my heroes: Conway Twitty, Keith Whitley, Gary Stewart and George Strait
Can you walk us through your songwriting process?
I hear a phrase or comment that inspires me. I replay that phrase and emotion over and over in my head. And I find a melody and put the story line to that melody. And always trying to keep true emotion in every song I write.
How do you approach collaborating with other musicians or producers?
Cautiously
Can you describe a particularly challenging project you’ve worked on and how you overcame any obstacles?
I recently was asked to write a song for a movie about a very interesting and determined man who had a dedicated life to stunt acting. After getting the song written I was asked to record the song with a deadline to be ready for the premiere of the movie. I was ill with weak vocals and struggled to get through the recording but with extra takes, I was able to get the song finished in time for the premiere.
How do you balance creativity with commercial viability when writing and recording music?
I don’t give any thought to commercial viability when writing a song. I write based on pure inspiration.
Can you talk about your live performance experience? How do you engage with your audience and keep them entertained?
As I am performing I have always had a knack to read the crowd and deliver the music with the emotion that they are wanting out of the performance. For me there is nothing better than to be able to meet and talk to the audience and be able to shake their hand or hug their neck after the performance.
How do you handle criticism or negative feedback about your music?
I don’t get any.
How do you stay on top of emerging trends in the music industry?
I don’t deal with emerging trends
Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or releases you have in the works?
Currently releasing a song from my current album “Radio Friend.” The song is “Current Conditions” that I am real proud of. I have expectations on recording an album of my favorite cover songs and also another album of songs of inspiration.
