MONA aka US vocalist, songwriter and producer Nick Brown is back with the first new music since 2020. The brand new single ‘Nothing Is Dead’ was released on 21st July via ZionnoiZ Recordings/Ingrooves/Virgin Music Group.

Music Crowns were lucky enought to grab a few words from him to give us a little insight into his world and tell us about future releases we can all look forward to.
Before we get started here is some quick fire facts on the musical genius that is MONA.
MONA were named one of NME’s Best New Bands. They won Brand New Act award at MTV awards, appeared on Jools Holland, and in the US, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Conan. MONA has toured with Noel Gallagher, The Walkmen, Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Queen, Billy Idol, The Zombies, The Wombats and July Talk.

Nick, thank you for answering a few questions for us, lets get to it!
When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?
I GREW UP SINGING. SONG WAS ALWAYS AROUND. I NEVER CHOSE MUSIC AS A CAREER.. IT KINDA CHOSE ME … UNFORTUNATELY HAHA
How would you describe your music?
LOTS OF HEART
What have you been up to so far this year?
I HAVE BEEN GIGGING A BIT AND RELEASING NEW TUNES. A SINGLE COMING IN SEPT AND ANOTHER IN NOV WHICH WILL LEAD UP TO A NEW ALBUM IN JAN … ALSO I WRITE AND PRODUCE FOR OTHER ARTISTS … I PAINT … I SPEND ALOT OF TIME WITH MY DOG
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
IDK. THE COOKIE MONSTER HAS A COOL VOICE AND I ALSO LIKE COOKIES
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album
IF I WAS STUCK ON AN ISLAND I DONT THINK I WOULD BE LISTENING TO MUSIC AS ALL. ID BE LOOKING FOR FOOD AND SHELTER MAKING UP MY OWN SONGS AS I SLOWLY WENT INSANE … THAT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING ALBUM
Can you tell us about any future releases, and do you plan to tour the UK soon?
