Introducing: Luke K

Luke K

Rising star Luke K is quickly becoming one of the fastest moving talents within the current Dance music business. At just 17 years old, he is one of the most talked about Austrian up-and-coming artists, with top event features like: Colorbash, Supergau DJ Clubbing, Stadtzauber, Lake Festival and Beatpatrol Festival putting him on the list for DJs to watch out for.

Luke K has also managed to win the Electric Love Festival talent contest, opening the doors for him to perform on their main stage alongside top names like: Tiesto, ZEDD, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, MakJ, Armin van Buuren and Robin Schulz to name just a few. He has also released his debut track lately, an EDM wonder by the name of ‘Chronos’ and things are looking very promising for this stellar artist.

We’ve had the pleasure to have a chat with Luke K to get to know him a little better and how he got into the electronic music scene.

Hi Luke, how are you and what’s going on in your world at the moment?

Hi! I´m really fine. On the way to living my dream – at the moment I have a little Austrian Tour. My track ‘Chronos’ is also released so I am really excited about that.

Which part of the world do you call home?

Austria is my home – A really beautiful country, which I’m very proud of 😉

For those who are not familiar with your music – how would you describe your style?

My style is something special. A mixture between Progressive House and Melbourne Bounce. But I am open to nearly every style, so not even I know what´s next 😉

Has your sound gone through any changes at some point?

Not really. Since the very start I focused on the EDM scene, there are no changes at the moment.

Where do you draw your influences?

Youtube, Facebook and some big DJs like: Hardwell, Martin Garrix and Austrian star Rene Rodrigezz.

When and how did you fall in love with electronic music?

About two years ago – when I went in a club for the first time I felt in love with electronic music.

Do you consider yourself more of a producer or DJ?

Personally I see myself more as a DJ. Many people say, I am born for the stage and I think so too.

Walk us through some of your highest career points so far.

One of the highest points in my career was the gig at the Electric Love Festival. This is the biggest festival in Austria and I always dreamed about playing it.

Where would you like to see yourself in the months ahead?

On big stages, maybe internationally. So a lot of bookings and I hope to be in the charts too.

Do you have any projects coming up this year?

Right now we have the release of ‘Chronos’, on the biggest Dance label in Austria called Balloon Records. We also made a music video for it and this was a really big project.

Who’s inspiring you in 2015?

Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and many more.

Your all-time favourite tracks?

‘This Is What It Feels Like’, ‘Never Say Goodbye’, ‘Runaway (U&I)’ and ‘Forbidden Voices’.

Thanks Luke K!
