When a songwriter is compared to the cultured likes of Neil Young, Glen Hansard and Damien Rice, it’s usually a very good sign. In the case of Cambridge songwriter Elliot Porter, those comparisons seems to bear up thanks to his mature, thoughtful style.
The song above, ‘Keep Going’, is typical of this and acts as the lead track to a new EP which is on the way later this month. November 23rd will see the EP available from all the usual digital outlets with help from Matchbox Recordings and Universal.
The fact that he is getting support from major labels as well as various radio stations around the UK bodes well for the ongoing career of this promising songwriter. Of course, there’s no such thing as overnight success. But if Porter continues to cultivate his talent and support, he has a great shot based on the quality of the songs.
