Many guitarists and bassists have ended up in a situation where they’ve put together a great riff but they don’t have an accompaniment. Danny Sapko has come up with a perfect solution: play all of the parts yourself.
Although using a loop pedal isn’t groundbreaking, using the pickup of your bass to create percussion is certainly impressive. Sapko taps out a beat which serves as a kind of bass drum before bringing out a spoon for a higher sound. He then scratches the strings to complete his percussion section, leaving him ready to loop several bass parts. Check out the full video below.
